Moving to a new home is usually a big change, a drastic change that sometimes can prove to be for the worse – like getting a load of bad luck after the move, for example.
That’s right – it’s been nothing but bad luck from the moment you stepped into that new house. How else could you possibly explain the incident when a water pipe burst just as you were going out to meet some friends for a drink at a local bar? Or when you had your key snap inside the lock after getting home from a very long day at work.
Seriously though, it’s one thing to have an accidental power cut while sleeping at night, and yet another to have a fuse blow off every time you sit down to watch your favorite sports team play on the TV.
And for the last three months, you’ve had several household appliances break down shortly after their respective warranty period has expired. And of course, you were sure that it wasn’t just mild cases of random bad luck when last week your house was the only one that got broken into from the entire neighborhood.
So, if you’ve had a miserable streak of bad luck ever since moving into a new home, then maybe you can do something about it in order to reverse your fortune.
Get rid of household objects that bring BAD LUCK
Regardless of whether you happen to believe in superstitions or not, it’s a good idea to look around the new home and remove or fix the things that are believed to bring bad luck.
While it’s true that you may find some of these bad luck superstitions a bit far-fetched, think about it – you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain by keeping those bad luck items out of your new home.
Besides, you never know – it could work out well for you in the end.
- Broken clock. Having broken things in the home is not a great idea in general, but keeping a broken clock is considered especially bad since it can signal pending doom. No wonder things have been off lately.
You’ve got 2 options, basically – either fix the clock that isn’t running at all (or get it fixed) or throw it away, far from your new place. - Dead plants. Displaying lifeless décor in a home is thought to bring bad luck and dead energy. So, get rid of any shriveled-up or dried-up plants that have already stopped filling your home with positive energy.
You may be thinking that dead plants cannot possibly be the reason for you being down on your luck recently, but sometimes it comes down to the little things. - Paintings of devastation. It is believed that displaying paintings or photographs of destruction, devastation, and ruins in a new home may bring trouble and bad luck as well.
Therefore, to change your luck, all you might need to do is to get rid of anything that shows the aftermath of natural disasters, wars, and cataclysms. - Old broom. Before you burst into laughter, think about this: old brooms will supposedly sweep away the good luck from a new house, so don’t even bother moving your old broom.
And seriously, are you still using a broom to clean up your living space? Now it’s time to upgrade to a modern good-charm vacuum cleaner. - Ax. Never bring an ax inside the new house – not only is that sharp tool dangerous but it’s also a bad omen and a bringer of bad luck.
Keep the ax in the tool shed outside the house and be very careful every time you use it for its intended purpose – to chop wood. - Garden hoe. Keep your garden hoe where it belongs – in the garden tool shed. Why? Again, bringing a hoe into the new house will also bring bad fortune – the very thing you’re trying to get rid of after the move.
However, if you, accidentally, do carry a garden hoe inside the home, remember to walk backward and get out of the same door you entered. - Rocking chair. If there’s an old rocking chair in the attic or basement that you’re not using, then you need to do something about it, and quick! According to an Irish legend, an empty rocking chair will invite evil spirits into a home.
So, in order to reverse the bad luck that’s been hovering over you like a dark cloud ever since you stepped inside the new home, all you may have to do is start using that old rocking chair. Or throw it away. - Leaning ladder. As soon as you’re done using a ladder, remember to put it away. Walking under a leaning ladder is known to bring bad luck, but it’s also rather dangerous, so be on your guard.
You may not be a superstitious person, but getting injured by a falling ladder would definitely prolong your spell of back luck in that new house.

Introduce household items that bring GOOD LUCK
If you feel like you’ve had nothing but bad luck after moving into a new house, then getting rid of all the things that supposedly bring bad luck may not be enough to improve the situation.
In order to reverse your fortune, you may need to go a step further and surround yourself with items that do bring good luck, allegedly. On top of that, performing some simple good luck rituals may also change things for the better and hopefully leave you with more good luck than you can handle.
Make sure you get some of these good-luck charms in the new home:
- Elephant figurine. An elephant is a symbol of strength, loyalty, and wisdom, and any elephant ornaments inside a house are believed to bring good luck and prosperity to the people who live under that roof.
Without a doubt, the easiest way to bring an elephant inside a new house is in the form of an elephant figurine – just make sure the figurine is facing the door and the elephant’s trunk is pointing up. - Oranges. Having a bowl of various fruits in the home is supposed to help increase the overall positive energy. When it comes to sheer good luck, though, keep a fruit bowl with exactly 9 oranges in it to keep bad fortune away from your doorstep.
- Horseshoe. Everyone knows that horseshoes are meant to bring good luck, so don’t hesitate, not even for a second, to hang a horseshoe above the entrance door to ward off evil spirits and change your luck for the better.
- Crystals. Crystals are well known for having healing powers when placed inside a home. They are also believed to bring happiness, love, and good luck to the people who keep them in their living spaces.
- Four-leaf clover. Four-leaf clovers are rather rare to find, so if you do happen to have one, never throw it away but keep it with you where you live. Needless to say, you should definitely take it with you to the new home, for those clovers really are supposed to bring good luck to whoever finds them and keep them close by.
If you still have an inexplicable spell of bad luck in the new home, you can try the following new home rituals to invite good luck to that new place:
- BURN dried sage to dispel all negative energy and bad luck that have been accumulated there. Get the smoke of burning sage to every corner of every room but cover all mirrors and windows before you do it.
- BURN incense throughout the place – a new home ritual that’s supposed to do the same thing as burning dry sage leaves.
- SPRINKLE salt on all thresholds and window sills in the new home to ward off evil spirits and bad luck.
- SCATTER coins or rice on the floors of your home – a good-luck ritual that’s believed to bring in good fortune. Just watch your step, ok?

Do chi-gong-google “energy chi for beginners”. After I bought a video in 2005 and did the moves, a recruiter called me and placed me in a six-month job instead of the two and three-week assignments I’d been getting in 2005.
Burn sage-start at the back, wave the smoke through the house and out the front door to dispel bad vibrations.
Read up on Feng Shui, figure out what your KUA numbers are to ascertain your lucky directions.,,Put a fountain in your wealth and success sector. Rearrange your furniture accordingly. Don’t sit in front of doors or corners. hang a crystal in between opposing doors.
Unclutter your house. Avoid beams over the dining room and bedroom-cover the beams with garlands. Play singing bowl music you can find on internet, you-tube perhaps.

Yes, ever since moving here to this place. A whole day away from yes, where I am from. To a so small town, I was so used to a way bigger place? I didnt chose it here, it broke my heart, to move here. Alot of wrong done to my family seriously. And too many evil bad things have happened to me, since moving here? Too many things to mention, so tiring for me? So, do I say, a concidence here, or something seriously to these evil wrongs on me? I do know also, I have never ever said, this is my home.Or that I do belong here, in fac t I know I dont. And where I used to live, where I am from. I couldnt get into the market there, or even get a place to rent for my pets.? So since moving here, 7 8 years ago.I pine after getting back, to where I am from. And I actually really lived , compared to here? I have been so depressed since I moved here, and I have put on weight also. It is so so so lonely isolated place to live. And five six, months of snow. Such a tough life here, a cheap mortgage but what? The sheer cost to me, I should have a place paid off, all the money taken from this family. Anyway there so hope some reply back please on this. Thankyou so much. Julie PS. Also, a so small town, a ring of crap going on there.
